Fermented Tofu Cubes

Made with NON-GMO soybeans, the AFC Fermented Tofu Cubes are a Chinese delicacy of preserved tofu soaked in brine and sesame oil. There are three types of fermented tofu cubes: hot chili beancurd, white beancurd, or red beancurd. These items are not to be confused in any way or form of ‘stinky’ tofu as they are completely different. The texture and taste resembles a firm, smooth paste similar to cream cheese. These items are mostly used as an ingredient added into sauces. There can be many uses with the different types but some typical uses include sauce marinade, porridge, and cooking green vegetables such as water spinach (ong-choy); it is an acquired taste but has a cult following.
